We are targeting a highly-motivated Senior UX Designer / UI Developer to join a high-performance and innovative team. This person must be a strong contributor with a high-quality mindset, able to adapt quickly to leverage emerging technologies, and able to utilize his/her demonstrable experience and dedication to ensure that our customers are delighted. The Senior UX Designer / UI Developer will be working closely with peers as part of an agile team, where collaboration is key.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will be responsible for billable client consulting that includes the design, production, modification, and maintenance of our client’s website and web application UI. You will work closely with UI/UX Designers at our agency partners on some projects, while directly creating the design for clients on others. Additionally, you will work with Solution Leads at BlueModus to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. This includes:

  • Designing and developing new user-facing features
  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimizing application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assuring that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end team for development
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

What You Need:

  • Previous experience designing and developing websites and microsites

  • A portfolio showcasing strong abilities in producing creative concepts, layout, typography and user interface design

  • Knowledge of UX principles, web/mobile standards and ability to design for them

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other visual design and wire-framing tools

  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, OnmiGraffle, InVision, Sketch, and UX Pin

  • Ability to adhere to client graphic standards and brand guidelines as well as the ability to help define design and brand guidelines as needed

  • Proficient with web markup, including HTML5, CSS3

  • Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS

  • Experience with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery

  • Experience with advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, and DurandalJS

  • Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX

  • Experience with image authoring tools such as Gimp or Photoshop for making small adjustments to UI/UX Designer delivered finished resources

  • Experience resolving cross-browser compatibility issues

  • Strong testing ethic

  • Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial or SVN

  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them
