BlueModus donates to Youth on Record

As part of its ongoing program to give back to our community, BlueModus has donated $500 to Youth on Record, a non-profit with a goal to leverage the arts to empower and inspire Colorado’s underserved youth to re-engage in their education and graduate, while also providing advanced job skills and opportunities in the creative industries.

The programs at Youth on Record (YOR) empower 1,000 teens in some of Denver’s most vulnerable communities to make life choices that positively impact their future by teaching them to develop the coping tools, inspiration, and wherewithal to succeed in today’s world and to become leaders of tomorrow. The organization is committed to ensuring that the youth they serve graduate from high school and are ready to enter the workforce, and transition to college or enter advanced technical training and careers.

YOR programs include in-school coursework, in which participants can earn high school course credit for their work, as well as out of school time activities, such as Open Lab, an opportunity for teens to work on their classroom projects, collaborate with others in a healthy environment, and learn from local Colorado musicians in a state-of-the-art recording studio and music lab. In 2015, they also launched YOR Sessions which brings together emerging, national, global, and local musicians to perform in their recording studio while also providing a teaching opportunity to students.

Additionally, YOR offers a nine-month fellowship program, geared towards helping participants to develop the skills and tools they need to be successful in future careers and/or continued higher education. Each year, up to 15 students are selected to participate in this intensive professional development program.
