For the fourth year in a row, the BlueModus team has collected toys to help children in need during the holiday season. Our colleagues donated 496 toys that were recently delivered to Toys for Tots, which is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

“During a tough year growing up, my grandparents made sure I had Christmas gifts. I’ll never forget it. It’s wonderful to be able to give back in this way and see my teammates care for these kids,” says BlueModus Director of Development Mike Wills.

By collecting new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distributing those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community, the Marine Toys for Tots provides a message of hope to less fortunate children and to let them experience the joy of Christmas. Nationwide, Toys for Tots collects and distributes over 19 million toys annually, as well as over 1.3 million books as part of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program.

“While everyone experiences the special feeling of the holiday season, a children’s joy and excitement over Christmas is just magical. The thought of a child waking up on Christmas morning with nothing to unwrap breaks my heart” says BlueModus Accounting & Contracts Manager Julie Biesiada. “I am humbled to work for an organization that continues to not only hold an annual toy drive, but truly promote them and make it easy for colleagues to give. BlueModus is very proud to continue to help support this mission and in the past 4 years, colleagues at BlueModus have donated over 1,200 toys.
