School Supply Drive Provides Boost for Kids in Need

Earlier this month, the BlueModus team participated in a school supply drive to benefit Colorado school children in need. Our colleagues generously contributed hundreds of dollars of school supplies as well as cash donations, as part of a larger annual effort headed up by The Action Center, a Lakewood, Colorado non-profit that provides immediate and compassionate response to community members who are experiencing hardship.

This school supply drive will benefit nearly 5,000 low-income and homeless students in Jefferson County, Colorado, by providing them the supplies they’ll need as they head back to school in the next few weeks. Donated supplies include everything from pencils, pens, and notebooks, to glue sticks and backpacks.

“I never want to see a kid go to school without the supplies they need. When I was little, all we had to bring was a box of crayons, but I know that if the list had been longer, our family would have had a hard time making it work,” shares BlueModus Senior Strategist. “Between the curriculum, social pressures, and balancing life, there’s already enough stress surrounding school. Having enough pencils and crayons should never be something a child has to worry about. By contributing to this cause, I hope that kids will be able to spend their time focusing on their success in class rather than school supplies.”

The Action Center is still accepting school supply donations, so if you’d like to contribute to this worthy cause, you can do so online here, or you may drop off supplies directly at their Lakewood, Colorado headquarters.
