BlueModus Supports Cancer League of Colorado

BlueModus has recently donated $500 to the Cancer League of Colorado, as part of its ongoing mission to give back to our community.  The Cancer League’s mission is to control or find the ultimate cure for cancer through raising funds to support research and cancer-related services in the state of Colorado. The organization is uniquely comprised entirely of volunteers, currently more than 400 individuals, and with no paid staff and no offices, 100% of donations and funds raised go directly towards research and service grants.

Founded in 1969 by five women whose families were affected by cancer, the Cancer League has raised more than $16 million that has been used to support Colorado research, patient care and family programs. Research grants have been awarded to facilities such as the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Colorado State University, Children’s Hospital, and the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Care. This funding has played a major role in numerous discoveries and advancements in cancer research. Additionally, service grants are awarded to organizations that provide hospice care, educational materials, care to indigent patients, and recreational activities for children fighting cancer.

“I’ve witnessed and felt the heartache that cancer causes, including losing a close friend in her thirties to this terrible disease earlier this year,” says Jason Beattie, BlueModus Digital Marketing Manager, who selected this month’s charity. “I’m hopeful that supporting this organization that puts 100% of donations towards research and services will move us closer to finding a cure.”
