Each month BlueModus is pleased to administer a philanthropy project called, "BlueModus Gives Back." The aim of the project is to make a monthly cash donation to needy families, individuals, organizations, or causes nominated by one of our employees.
Mother House has been available for pregnant women in need since June of 1982. During their stay, these women are given guidance and emotional support while also gaining encouragement to redirect their lives during an unplanned pregnancy. It has become a safe haven for women to build confidence and skills necessary for a strong future for them and their babies, should they decide to parent. The organization serves the woman who has made the decision to carry her baby to term. The emphasis is on supporting her during her pregnancy so it can be a positive experience. The women at Mother House live in a cooperative household and are encouraged to respect and support one another emotionally through their shared experiences.
Mother House provides educational fund tuition assistance to women continuing their studies. Mother House supports a woman’s educational goals for a year after leaving the shelter, and refers the women to seek programs that will help, guide and support them. Some of the programs include prenatal care, therapy and financial assistance. The women are allowed to stay up to two to three months after the birth of the child.
The organization is nonprofit (501C3), nonpolitical, and nonsectarian. Aside from the administrator and house manager, Mother House depends on volunteers. These volunteers offer friendship to the women and work with their individual needs. Volunteers also serve on the Board of Directors, overseeing the operation and fund raising for Mother House.
