Each month BlueModus is pleased to administer a philanthropy project called, "BlueModus Gives Back." The aim of the project is to make a monthly cash donation to needy families, individuals, organizations, or causes nominated by one of our employees.
This month's donation is the charity AfricAid.
AfricAid is a nonprofit organization that supports girls’ education in Africa in order to provide young women with the opportunity to transform their own lives and the futures of their communities. In support of its mission, AfricAid provides funding for scholarships, school building projects, leadership training, vocational and teacher training, school supplies, school lunch programs, and works in conjunction with the local initiatives of Tanzanians and other African leaders committed to education. Additionally, in the wake of the devastation caused by the recent Haitian earthquake, BlueModus’ employees donated funds to Shelterbox, an organization formed by concerned Rotarians in England, specializing in disaster relief and emergency shelter. BlueModus itself then matched the funds donated by its employees for the Haitian relief effort.
ShelterBox is continuing its vital work responding to disasters around the world while carrying on with its massive aid delivery to Haiti. This week, the agency is sending 1,200 ShelterBoxes to Port au Prince, providing emergency shelter for up to 12,000 people.
